Make a mulled wine spice bag
This mulled wine spice bag will spruce up any bottle and make it a special Christmas gift

1 Cut out a 15cm square double layer of muslin and put 6 cloves, 2 allspice berries and 2 tablespoons caster sugar in the middle.
2 Bring together the corners and tie with twine.
3 Tie on a cinnamon stick and fresh bay leaf, and tie to the neck of a bottle of fruity red wine.
4 Attach a label with the following instructions written on it: Pour the wine into a pan. Either empty the contents of the spice bag into the pan or add the bag as it is. Add 2 small sliced oranges (optional). Heat gently for 15 minutes to infuse the flavours. Serve warm.
