Make a fabric picture frame
Use offcuts of favourite materials to make eye-catching surrounds for pictures and photographs. By Sarah Moore

You will need
● Picture frame, with glass, backing, pins and tacks removed
● PVA glue and brush
● Strips or squares of fabric
● Picture
● Small hammer
● Masking or craft tape (optional)
How to make
1. Make sure the frame is dust-free, then apply a layer of glue to one section of it and begin sticking on the fabric. Tuck the edges inside the front where the glass will be and right round to the back for a neat finish.
2. Continue to apply glue and fabric, smoothing it down as you go, until the whole frame is covered. Paste over the material, too, as the glue will dry clear and add a protective layer. Allow to dry.
3. Insert the pins and glass, put a picture inside and replace the backing with the tacks using the hammer, or secure with tape.
Tip: For frames with moulded decoration, use smaller pieces of finer fabric and a paintbrush to shape it around raised details.
