How to make a flowery feast centrepiece
This kebab-style arrangement makes an eye-catching centrepiece

You will need:
• large square platter
• salad leaves and herb sprigs
• 4 aspidistra leaves
• 4 wooden skewers
• 1 lemon, sliced
• 6 gerberas
• 10 carnations
Step 1
Pour a little water into the platter, if it's deep enough. Spread the salad leaves and herb sprigs on the platter.
Step 2
Take an aspidistra leaf and push the wooden skewer through lengthways, folding up the leaf as you go, to give a concertina effect. Repeat with the remaining leaves and skewers. Add a slice of lemon on four skewer ends, and place the skewers on the platter. Cut remaining lemon into quarter slices and place at ends of the platter.
Step 3
Trim the gerberas and carnations, then lay on top of the skewers between the leaf folds, to give the effect of flower kebabs.
