Sew a personalised shopper bag: free sewing pattern
Create a stylish, sturdy shopper bag with a personlised initial - great to give as a gift

You will need
● 50cm of 90cm or wider strong fabric, such as denim
● Oddment of patterned fabric
● Matching thread
● Bondaweb
To make
Draw an initial to desired size and trace outline in reverse onto Bondaweb. Iron Bondaweb onto reverse of patterned fabric and cut out.
Cut two 43cm x 36cm rectangles of fabric for bag. Iron initial in place onto one rectangle and zigzag stitch around the edge. With right sides together, pin and stitch the bag pieces together, taking 1.5cm seam allowances. Neaten edges together. Press under 1cm then 2.5cm around top of bag.
Cut two 67cm x 7cm strips for handles. Press under 1cm on both long edges. Press in half lengthwise and stitch close to both edges. Slip ends of straps under bag hem about 10cm apart and stitch in place close to top and bottom of hem.
