Make a bead and fabric necklace
Make a statement with a few chunky beads and a scrap of leftover fabric

You will need
4cm x 140cm fine, soft fabric, such as cotton lawn
Five chunky beads
A needle and thread
To make
Fold fabric strip in half with right sides together, and stitch across both ends and along the side, taking 5mm seam allowances and leaving a gap in the centre for turning through.
Turn right side out and press. Sew up gap. Thread a needle with double thread and knot the end.
Take a stitch in one end of the fabric strip. Thread the needle through a bead, pulling the fabric through after it, and position in the centre of the strip.
Tie a knot in the fabric on both sides of this bead. Tie another knot about 5cm away and add two more beads in the same way.
Cut the thread and attach it to the other end of the fabric strip, and repeat. To wear, tie necklace in a bow at the back.
