Make a handmade fabric corsage: free sewing pattern
This handmade fabric corsage will add a splash of colour to a plain jacket

You will need
● pinking shears or sewing scissors
● selection of fabrics
● decorative buttons
● needle and thread
● brooch fastening or safety pin
1 Use pinking shears or sewing scissors to cut out lots of different-sized circles and basic leaf shapes from your scraps of material. Try to create a good mix of patterns, textures and colours.
2 Layer up the discs, largest on the bottom, until you have a thick stack of fabric.
3 Place a button on the top and secure it firmly in place by stitching through all the layers, using a double cotton thread.
4 Sew the brooch fastening to the back.
5 Repeat step two with your leaf shapes, then stitch in a straight line all the way down the middle of the stack.
6 Attach a safety pin or brooch fastening to each leaf or sew three together with one large clip on the back. Pin to jackets or wear in your hair.
