Fly the flag with our simple bunting instructions
You can't beat bunting for a special event or for adding a celebratory air.
It couldn't be easier to get behind the England team in the World Cup this summer, with our free England flag bunting to print out.
For triangular England flag bunting
From white fabric (an old sheet works well), cut triangles measuring 20cm across the top by 25cm long. For mini bunting, cut triangles measuring 5cm across by 8cm long. Or you can use the shapes on this free printable bunting as templates.
From red fabric, cut two strips per bunting piece, each 3cm wide (1.5cm for mini bunting). Sew one red strip crossways and one lengthways on each white triangle.
Neaten sides of triangles if you want the bunting to be long-lasting - it's not necessary if the bunting is for one-off short-term use only.
Press a long length of 2.5cm-wide white cotton tape in half lengthways, or use string.
Slip tops of triangles inside folded tape and stitch in place with triangles positioned 5cm apart (1.5cm for mini bunting). If you're using string, fold over the tops of the bunting and stitch, leaving a channel to pass the string through.
For rectangular England flag bunting
Rectangular bunting is easier to make as it's the same shape as the flag. From white fabric (an old sheet works well), cut rectangles measuring 20cm by 25cm long. For mini bunting, cut rectangles measuring 5cm by 8cm.
From red fabric, cut two strips per bunting piece, each 3cm wide (1.5cm for mini bunting). Sew one red strip crossways and one lengthways on each white rectangle.
Neaten the edges if you want to keep the bunting to use again.
Press a long length of 2.5cm-wide white cotton tape in half lengthways, or use string.
Slip top edges of rectangles inside folded tape and stitch in place with rectangles positioned 5cm apart (1.5cm for mini bunting). If you're using string, fold over the tops of the bunting and stitch, leaving a channel to pass the string through.
