Make a personalised towel
Customise a plain white towel with an appliquéd initial

You will need
• Towels
• Printed cotton fabric
• Bondaweb
To make
1. Draw required initial freehand or print out from a computer. Trace it in reverse onto Bondaweb and cut out, leaving a small margin all round. Iron onto wrong side of printed fabric and cut out accurately. Iron in place onto the towel and zigzag stitch around outer edges.
2. Cut a strip of fabric 5cm wide the width of the towel plus 3cm. Press under 1.5cm at both short edges. Press under 1cm on both long edges. Fold binding over the towel edge so the binding is slightly wider on the wrong side, and pin.
3. Working from the right side, stitch in place, checking that you are catching in the underside of the binding.
