Sew Easter bunny and Easter egg party bags: free sewing patterns
Send children home happy with these little Easter bags for holding all their party treats

You will need
● Two rectangles of linen-type fabric 25cm x 16cm
● Matching thread
● Oddment of printed cotton fabric
● Bondaweb
● 1m of narrow ribbon, plus extra for trims
● Felt for bunny tail
To make
1. Enlarge the templates below to 15cm for the bunny and 12cm for the egg. Trace onto Bondaweb and cut out the shapes roughly, a little larger than the templates.
2. Iron onto wrong side of printed fabric and then cut out the shape accurately. Remove paper backing and iron onto the right side of one linen rectangle 3cm above lower edge.
3. Work small, close zigzag stitching around the outer edge of the design. Stitch on ribbon trim, finishing with a bow. Use Bondaweb to add a felt tail to the bunny.
4. Pin and stitch the two rectangles together at the sides and lower edge, taking 1cm seam allowances. Neaten seam allowances and press open.
5. Press under 1cm, then 2cm around top edge of bag and stitch. Undo a few stitches in the side seams within this hem. Use a safety pin to thread 50cm of narrow ribbon around the top of the bag through the opening in the top of one side seam and out again through the same side. Knot ribbon ends together. Repeat with a second length of ribbon through the opposite side seam.
