Sew a personalised cushion cover: free sewing pattern
Easy to make and pretty as a picture, these handmade cushion covers will add a personal touch to any bedroom

You will need
50cm of 137cm-wide strong cotton fabric (makes three cushions)
Oddments of printed cotton fabrics
Matching thread
Bondaweb
45cm square cushion pads
How to make
1. For each cushion cover, cut two rectangles 33cm x 48cm for the back and one square 48cm x 48cm for the front.
2. Draw the letter in reverse onto Bondaweb and iron onto the reverse of printed fabric. Cut out. Position in centre of fabric square and iron in place. Zigzag stitch around edges of letter.
3. Press under and stitch 1.5cm hem across one long edge of each back. With right sides together and edges level, lay backs on top of cushion front so hemmed edges overlap. Pin and stitch around outer edge, taking 1.5cm seam allowances. Trim seam allowances to 1cm and neaten edges together. Turn right side out and press. Insert cushion pad. Repeat for each cushion.
