To make
Using a sewing machine, stitch together the fabric squares in rows of four, with a seam allowance of about 1cm. Trim and notch fabric corners and press seams flat. Stitch together the four rows of squares with right sides facing and press seams flat.
Cut out the backing fabric into two oblongs measuring 43cm x 26.5cm. With right sides facing, start sewing the longer sides of the fabric together, with a 5cm seam allowance. Sew about 5cm from each end leaving a gap for inserting the cushion pad. Press both seams to one side.
With right sides facing, stitch the backing to the cushion front around all four sides. Trim and notch the corners with sharp scissors.
Turn to right side and stitch on a snap fastening to the back opening. Insert cushion filler to finish.
