Use fabric instead of paper for a modern twist on the classic festive decoration
Choose bright, jolly patterned fabrics and cut into long strips.
Fold the edges over, iron these in place and cut the strip into smaller lengths long enough to form a decent loop (approx 18cm).
Use a sewing machine to attach the ends of the first piece together to create a ring.
Thread the next length of fabric through this loop and sew the ends together as before.
Continue (varying the fabric patterns) until you reach the required length.
