Easy to sew, this colourful calendar will delight children for years to come
Cut out a large rectangle of fabric. Cut out 24 equal-sized squares of fabric to cover its area (allowing extra for hems).
Hem the squares and sew onto the larger fabric on three sides, leaving the top open, as six vertical rows and four horizontal.
Stamp numbers onto iron-on tape and iron onto each pocket. Turn over the top edge of the background fabric and stitch to form a channel. Push a piece of bamboo through, attach a length of ribbon and hang.
Fabric, from a selection, Ian Mankin. Iron-on tape, John Lewis. Stamp set, Muji. Crackers, Paperchase. Toy mouse, Home & Colonial
