Sew an Easter chick: free sewing pattern
Make a fun decoration for Easter. By Kirsty Robertson

You will need:
Scissors
Spotty fabric
Yellow felt
Green felt
Twine
Needle and thread
Toy stuffing
Beads
To make:
1. Enlarge templates (below) so body is 13cm tall. Cut two body pieces and one base from spotty fabric.
2. Cut beak and hair from yellow felt. Cut four wings and four feet from green felt. Cut two 17cm lengths of twine for legs. Stitch pairs of wings together, close to outer edge.
3. Repeat for feet, inserting twine in top of each as you stitch. Thread three beads onto each leg.
4. Tack wings and hair to right side of one body piece. Stitch body pieces together, right sides facing, taking 1cm seam allowance.
5. Trim seams. Stitch base to body, inserting ends of twine and leaving a gap for turning through. Turn right side out and fill with toy stuffing.
6. Sew up gap. Glue on beak and sew on beads for eyes.
