What's the DVD? Davina: Fit in 15
What's the idea? No prizes for spotting this is the latest offering from workout queen Davina McCall. And as the title suggests, the aim is to get fit and fabulous with a daily workout that lasts just 15 minutes. To clarify, there are actually four 15-minute workouts - cardio, legs, arms and core - all designed to burn fat and tone muscle. So if you're feeling particularly energetic, you could do two or three workouts together. They're pretty intense: think squats, jumps and kicks. But just keep telling yourself it'll all be over in 15 minutes.

What's the DVD? Tabata: The Four-Minute Workout
What's the idea? So you're really pushed for time? Japanese scientist Professor Izumi Tabata may have found the solution. Tabata is the best-known form of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) - the theory being that you can get super-fit with just 20 seconds of intense exercise, followed by a 10-second rest, repeated eight times. Clinical trials have shown it to be more effective than a full hour on an exercise bike. We should point out that the DVD is more than four minutes long: there are three different Tabata routines and each workout lasts 20 minutes once you factor in the warm-up and cool-down.

There's also an exclusive Pilates-based cool-down. You'll certainly work up a sweat - but Jodie's moves are very simple to follow and a little less hardcore than others on our list.

What's the DVD? Josie Gibson's 21 Day Fat Burn
What's the idea? Yes, it's another celebrity workout DVD. Mind you, if you didn't happen to watch Big Brother in 2010, you may not be aware that chirpy Josie - the show's winner - actually qualifies as a celebrity. Still, credit where its due: Josie has lost an amazing six stone and is now a qualified personal trainer. Her DVD comprises three workouts plus regular fitness tests so you can track your progress. Each workout is designed to raise your pulse, build muscle and burn fat. The result? It's simple but effective stuff.

What's the DVD? 10 Minute Solution Butt Lift
What's the idea? As its name suggests, this is another no-nonsense regime that caters for the time-pressed. And the focus here is the 'butt' - or 'bottom', as we much prefer to call it. There are five 10-minute routines - with names like 'Cardio Booty Camp' and 'Upright Booty - each very different but still geared towards shaping up your bottom. You can do one at a time or string a couple together - although beware of overdoing it, especially when you start off. Further DVDs in the top-selling series focus on other parts of the body.

What's the DVD? Body Transformation: 15 Minute Fast Fitness
What's the idea? This DVD's been on the market for more than a year now, but it's still selling well - presumably due to the great results people are seeing. It's the work of Wayne Gordon and Jenny Pacey - better known as Doom and Enigma from Gladiators. The regime comprises three 15-minute workouts: Swiss ball to work your core muscles; core control for tighter abs and better posture; and dynamic dumbbells for lean, toned muscles. So it's pretty tough and you'll need some extra equipment - but you should shape up fast.
